Every once in a while, I start to run out of ideas. It happens sometimes, after all, I’ve been writing posts three times a week for the last four years.
So, I’d love to hear your ideas!
Do you have questions about techniques? Do you want more tutorials?Do you want to see what I’m working on?Are you interested in seeing more new patterns? If so, what do you like to knit?Is there something else you’d like to see?
Let me know! I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Woo! It’s me! Again! For the 400th time!
I’ve been writing this blog for more than 2 and a half years, three times a week. Posts start to stack up. There’s a part of me that wants to print it all out, just to see how much paper it would use.
But that’s crazy.
(And a waste of paper.)
Instead, let’s talk about my second-favorite thing (apart from knitting and writing about knitting): TV.
Sincef I’ve done 400 posts, let’s see what shows have had more than 400 episodes. (Of course, this is according to this website, so who knows how accurate these counts are.)
Bonanza (apparently) ran for 430 episodes. (I remember watching the beginning of this show hundreds of times as a kid when it came on after Little House on the Prairie, but I don’t think I ever actually watched it.)
Law and order is still one of my favorite mindless TV binge-watching shows, and at 456 episodes, there’s lots to binge on.
I loved the Simpsons from middle school through high school and would watch reruns after school almost every day. I memorized quotes and learned every character’s backstory… yes, I might be a bit of a nerd. Now, with 541 episodes, I’ve got quite a lot to catch up on.And Lassie wins the episode race with 588 episodes over almost 20 years. This surprised me, as I’m pretty sure the few episodes I saw as a kid were all basically the same. But, I suppose that could be said for a lot of TV shows.I’ve only got 188 more posts before I overtake Lassie!
Yup. I have come to the end of my ideas, or at least the list of ideas I keep on my computer.
I have a spreadsheet where I keep notes about the blog, and a schedule of what I’ve been writing about. I try to keep the posts pretty balanced between techniques, tips, patterns, and “Cool stuff I found online.”
And, well, the “Cool stuff I found online” category seems to have been winning lately.
That, and my list of topic ideas has gotten frighteningly short. So, instead of drinking a lot of coffee and putting in the actual work of coming up with new ideas, I shall extend an invitation to you guys: What do you want to see more of? What do you want to see less of? Is there a topic you’re dying to learn more about? Should I talk more about the projects I’m knitting on, or could you care less? Do you want to learn about finishing techniques? Or are you interested in varieties of yarn? Did you see a pattern for a hat that you love, but can’t decipher? Or do you want my super secret recipe for blackberry pie? (Well, tough! You can’t have it. It’s secret.)
Let me know what you want to see, and we’ll get the ball (of yarn) rolling on some awesome new posts and exciting new projects, and hopefully, another 250 (mostly pretty good) posts.
Just a quick little post today!
This is the 200th post on On the Needles! Woo Hoo!
It’s been an awesome year and a half (ish)! I love sharing my ideas, thoughts, and the things that inspire me. And, I appreciate everyone who responds! Hearing feedback is the best part of writing this blog.
So, to those of you who have been keeping up with On the Needles since the beginning: Thank you! And, to those of you who have just found my little corner of the internet: Welcome!
Here’s to 200 more posts!
