So, you know my new pattern (the Ballard Pullover)?  It’s not being published on it’s own.  It’s part of a fantastic collection of gorgeous, autumnal knits.  Twist and Tweed!  Here’s what you’ll find inside:

Amazing cables! Cables! Cables!

75206D120[1]Tweed and heathers!

75206D110[1]And more (freaking amazing) cables!75206D115[1]Holy cow, are my fingers itching to start knitting up these projects.  Do you think I could finish that dress by the time fall rolls around if I start now and skip stuff like going to work and sleeping?   Maybe.

Are your fingers itching to cast on, too?  Well, today’s your lucky day!  I’m giving away two (count ’em, two!) copies of Twist and Tweed– one e-book and one paper book– to two lucky readers!

Want to enter? Just comment below with your favorite autumnal activity!  I can’t wait to read all about apple picking and cozy blankets and imagine that I’m back in autumn!

I love these patterns and Ballard is definitely going in my queue.

As for favourite fall activities, mine are to wake up early in the morning, pull on socks and a sweater, drink black tea and watch the sun come up.

Does knitting count? lol Actually- my favorite Autumnal activity is going to festival and fairs. I hate the heat of summer, and apparently I’m not the only one, because several counties where I live WAIT until the weather is cooler to do their festivals. This way you can actually ENJOY yourself, rather than just eating cold stuff to cool off.

Queensland summers can be pretty ferocious…the favourite autumnal activity is celebrating that I survived another one…that first day that’s cool enough to sit outside on the back verandah with my knitting saying thank god it’s over!

Oh autumn. For us, it’s time for some final fruit pie making and a good airing out of the house. Oooo and skateboarding with my son for the last time before it gets too icy and cold 🙂

Mmm, fall…I can’t think of anything I love more than walking through the woods, watching the leaves turn colors and wondering how those combinations would look in a sweater. Eventually, everything leads back to knitting! Love your new pattern!

I always enjoyed raking leaves and looking forward to being warm and cozy at home when the day was done.
I live in LA now (instead of Ohio) so now Fall means longer sleeves and a nice glass of wine by the fire pit (which we couldn’t light all summer because it’s been in the 90s and triple digits!

    I love your patterns.

In the fall, I love cooking. Soups and stews and pies. All my favorite hearty, harvest foods.

I love the Fall with the cool evening temperatures and the changes of the leave colors. Knitting is an everyday part of my life. These patterns would make lovely gifts for X-mas. I live for knitting and crocheting 🙂

I love running in the pinewoods with the gorgeous scents, scenery, red squirrels and collecting pine cones to take home to put by the fire….and knit! X

I would love to win one of the copies of this book.

My favorite autumnal activity is headed out to farms to visit all the animals and do corn mazes. Great exercise and a family friendly activity. In the evening…knitting of course. 🙂

My favorite part of autumn is sitting around a campfire, and the fact that its cool enough that your knitting doesn’t overheat you if it’s sitting in your lap. It’s my favorite time to knit a cozy blanket!

Knitting and making soup. Although not at the same time…there is a strict no yarn in the kitchen policy. 🙂

I love being outdoors in the fall better than any other season! Walking, hiking–just smelling the air as it turns crisp for winter. And I’m a former Seattleite now living in Leavenworth, WA and love the name and design!

My favourite fall activities are hiking in the badlands, because the fall is the best time temperature-wise, and going for walks in the fallen leaves. And bonfires!

This is too easy a choice. We absolutely love going to the pumpkin patch with our grandsons to pick out our pumpkins for carving for Halloween! And we enjoy helping with the annual Halloween Party!! And of course the carving is great fun!! Our eldest grandson loves receiving a new sweater knit by Grandma! The younger grandson has decided “no more sweaters” ha ha, we’ll see how long that lasts.

Oh Fall! I love those early morning walks out to wait for the school bus. We live in the mountains and all you can see is trees turning red and gold, with the smell of woodsmoke on the crisp cool air. Thanks for the chance.

Every Autumn my family drive way up north to an apple farm. Not only do we have a great selection of picked apples but the beauty of the countryside is phenomonal. Plus hot apple cider freshly pressed is delicious.

Oh my god, that’s a hard question, I love autumn! I like building blanket forts to stave off the cold, driving hot cider, and knitting of course (or reading).

I can see snugglingin the burgundy cabled sweater, for the office air conditioning! Gorgeous!

Ah autumn, sitting by our fire pit, roasting marshmallows with our children, talking as a family, while I knit. Great times that we enjoy, and connect on school day events, and slow down as a family.

I love autumn for baking and “putting up” at night. Later, I feel so in control when I pull out a pastry crust from the freezer and fill with the contents of 1 or more jars from the pantry and voila, dinner or dessert or gift. During the day, I knit in little snatches between other activities (waiting in lines, or commuting).

Autumn! The best season of the year. I get to wear beautiful warm cable sweaters and knit more for the Winter. Win-win!

Riding my horse in the Appalachian mountains. Coming back to the cabin and wrapping up in a warm (knitted of course) blanket and watching the mountains rest.

I love walking on a path where the leaves have fallen–love the sound of the swish and crunch under my feet. We live in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains so finding a place like this is easy. And my second favorite is knitting with heavier yarns/wool blends as sometimes it’s just too hot to do this in the summer–have two things ready to go come the end of September. Hope I win but I really like your book-love to do cables.

Most fun thing to do in Autumn? I love to get the first pick apples some for eating some for cooking, some for drying, and nuts and pumpkns and squash to use in the kitchen and as dec inthe dining room. Then get ut all the wooly clothes and make sure they’re ready for lovely cold weather!
